In our latest series of articles we are discussing how best to create your own website.
One of the challenges is learning the new applications such as hosting, installing a Content Management System (CMS) and then learning how to use the CMS. Even packages that allow you to skip the installation process such as Ning, require a learning curve. As discussed previously in our article “Create your own website” we believe the WordPress CMS has many benefits over its competitors. Key to their success is the large online community that can help and support you during “rookie stage”. In recent years online training has become more of a norm, with many large companies replacing the classroom training courses with online courses.
We started to investigate how successful these training courses were and we were impressed by the quality. We believe that our customers have a finite budget and anything that enables us to focus on the more complex requirements to get the customer up to speed is worth using. We have found that customers an learn the basics of WordPress via the documentation, support and now also training videos. This enables us to spend time improving their skills and teaching them the best way to use the skills they already have.
We found the training videos from WPBeginners to be very helpful for people who are new to websites and WordPress. We have no business relationship with these guys, but we like to give a shout out to people who do a good job. You can sign up and gain access to these videos here and best of all its FREE!
Our philosophy has always been to avoid inventing the wheel and if we can find a solution to a problem that allows us to spend more time on our customers’ specific issues, then we are all for recommending good products and services.
Why not try the videos and let us know what you think. You can leave your comments below.
